ADOR Moves Forward with Lawsuit for 43 Billion Won; Court Approves Temporary Asset Seizure of Min Hee Jin and Danielle's Mother, Former NewJeans Member

The ongoing legal battle between ADOR, the agency behind NewJeans, and former executives, along with the families of certain members, continues amidst contract disputes and management issues that began in 2024. Recently, the court issued a temporary asset seizure order against some involved parties while awaiting a ruling on a damages claim worth tens of billions of won.

According to legal sources, the Central District Court of Seoul approved ADOR's request on February 2 to seize properties held by Min Hee Jin and the mother of former NewJeans member Danielle, amounting to a total of 7 billion won. This includes 5 billion won attributed to Min Hee Jin and 2 billion won for Danielle's mother.

This action follows ADOR filing a damages lawsuit of 43 billion won in December 2025 against Danielle, her mother, and Min Hee Jin, citing contract violations and interference with the group's activities. However, this temporary asset seizure specifically targets Min Hee Jin and Danielle's mother, excluding Danielle herself.

The affected properties include Min Hee Jin's apartment in the Yeongsan district and a villa in the Mapo district of Seoul, which have previously been involved in other legal disputes. Additionally, Danielle's mother’s property in the Gwangjin district of Seoul and Anyang city has also been subject to restrictions.

A temporary asset seizure is a legal measure used to preserve assets pending a final court ruling, restricting the sale or use of the assets as collateral during the litigation process, which could impact financial liquidity if the case prolongs.

This move comes amid further uncertainty, following the recent resignation of ADOR’s entire legal team, with no new team appointed yet, raising questions about whether the company might seek to postpone scheduled hearings on May 14 and July 2.

Meanwhile, representatives for Danielle and Min Hee Jin have requested the court to proceed with the case as originally scheduled, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution as the legal battle between the two sides continues to attract ongoing attention.
