SULLI’s Brother Claims He Has 37-Minute Recording Mentioning IU, Kim Soo Hyun, and ‘Real’ Controversy

Controversy surrounding the late Sulli has once again resurfaced after her older brother posted a series of cryptic messages online, claiming that he possesses a 37-minute audio recording involving sensitive discussions connected to his sister’s past personal life and several well-known figures in the Korean entertainment industry.

On May 22, Sulli’s brother revealed through his personal social media account that he has “a recorded phone conversation with Sulli’s former manager” lasting approximately 37 minutes.

According to his claims, the recording allegedly contains mentions of:

• IU

• Kim Soo Hyun

• Lee Ro Bae (also known as Lee Sa Rang)

• Psychiatric hospital treatment

• SM Entertainment

• As well as aspects of Sulli’s private life during that period

However, he did not reveal any additional details regarding the actual contents of the recording.

Sulli’s brother further stated that there are many questions he wants to ask and many things he wants to say, but he is holding himself back while thinking about their mother.

He also clarified that when he previously mentioned the film Real last year, he only briefly touched on the issue and did not intend to continuously use the matter against anyone.

At the same time, he strongly emphasized:

“I want to make it clear in advance that nothing is false.”

Just one day earlier, Sulli’s brother also posted another cryptic message saying:

“The moment you make a comeback, the second round begins. The choice is yours.”

When a follower asked who he was referring to, he replied:

“The person from the star.”

Many Korean netizens interpreted the comment as a reference to the drama My Love from the Star, which starred Kim Soo Hyun.

As a result, some believe the message may be connected to Kim Soo Hyun’s future entertainment activities amid continuing public discussions surrounding past allegations and controversies.

Meanwhile, South Korean police are also reportedly investigating claims related to the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute.

According to police documents submitted to Seoul’s Gangnam Police Station, Kim Se Eui — a figure connected to the channel — has been accused of spreading false information regarding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron.

Authorities reportedly stated that there is no evidence suggesting Kim Soo Hyun had a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron while she was underage, nor any evidence connecting him to the circumstances surrounding her death.

Police also reportedly concluded that KakaoTalk conversations and audio recordings released by the channel were fabricated.

Previously, in March last year, Sulli’s brother also raised concerns regarding the filming process of Real, particularly questioning whether Sulli had been pressured into filming nude scenes and bed scenes.

The movie Real was directed and produced by Lee Ro Bae, also known as Lee Sa Rang, who is Kim Soo Hyun’s cousin. Kim Soo Hyun himself starred as the lead actor in the film.

In response to previous allegations, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency stated that Sulli had been fully informed about the scenes before filming and participated voluntarily.

The agency also clarified that although a body double was present on set, the individual only served as a stand-in for camera setup and scene preparation, rather than appearing in the final filmed scenes.

Although many issues remain unresolved, the latest posts from Sulli’s brother have once again reignited public attention surrounding Real and the controversies involving those connected to the film.
