CIX Officially Wraps Up Activities After 7 Years Since Debut, Members Part Ways for New Paths as Contracts End with Agency
K-pop boy group CIX, under C9 Entertainment, is officially ending their group activities after over 7 years of journeying with their fans.
C9 Entertainment released a statement through the group's official fan cafe to clarify the future of CIX, confirming that the members will cease group activities and pursue their own individual paths.
The agency stated that over the past few months, the company and the members had serious discussions regarding the possibility of continuing group activities. However, ultimately, all parties agreed that concluding group activities was an unavoidable decision at this time.
CIX debuted on July 21, 2019, and shared a close bond with fans throughout the past 7 years. The agency revealed that both the members and the team devoted their hearts to every project under the CIX name, including music, choreography, music videos, performances, television appearances, and various events. This made the decision to disband a difficult one for everyone involved.
As for the members, BX and Seunghun's exclusive contracts will expire on April 30.
Yonghee has voluntarily enlisted for military service following the decision to end group activities. He will enter basic training on May 11 before taking on his full duties as an active-duty soldier. His contract with the agency will conclude on the same day he enlists, and there will be no official farewell event on that date.
Nevertheless, the company plans to organize a small event for fans to have the opportunity to say goodbye to Yonghee before he enters the military, with further details to be announced through the fan cafe later.
Meanwhile, Hyunsuk will continue to receive support for his acting career so he can focus on the series he is currently filming, with his contract set to expire on May 31.
C9 Entertainment also encouraged fans to support each member as they embark on a new chapter of their lives, reaffirming that they will continue to communicate with the members, leaving the possibility open for CIX to reunite in the future with new music and the group's unique identity.
Previously, CIX debuted in 2019 and gained significant attention with former Wanna One member Bae Jinyoung in the lineup, before he departed from CIX in August 2024.
